D2FORGED and the D2LIFE are always about helping and being apart of our community. We have organized various charity events including our last Toys For Tots event. A large number of NYC customers and friends came together to help out the less fortunate children with a large contribution of Christmas gifts and toys.
This time we have an opportunity to give back again with a close family friend who has been diagnosed with Lupus. Monique Gore-Massie originally of Staten Island NY, is a very out going athletic young women who’s powerful attitude matches her spirit. Monique is now a newly wed living with Lupus. It is estimated that 1.5 million Americans have a form of lupus, an acute and chronic (lifelong) autoimmune disease in which the immune system is unbalanced, causing inflammation and tissue damage to virtually every organ system in the body.
Monique says “I’ve personally had intermittent scares with my kidneys, heart, skin and neurological flares. I’ve tried treatments which have “seemingly” been ineffective. But do no fret for me, I’m still here!” After being diagnosed with Lupus Monique became very involved with the Lupus Foundation of America, becoming a leader of her own team, The Lemonade Makers. Derrick and Stefan from D2 will be attending the annual “Walk for Lupus” in New York City. They hope to assist The Lemonade Makers hit their desired goal of collecting for $400,000.00 for Lupus awareness.
We will need the help of our loyal fans and friends to help us reach the Lemonade Makers goal. D2FORGED and D2LIFE have donated two shirt designs to be purchased by you.
