Here at D2FORGED, its no secret that we love classic 5spoke and mesh designs, some of our most popular models are built on this platform. With that being said, during the development of our 2012 line extensions, the challenge of an 11spoke wheel was introduced!
Call of duty issued, we immediately got to work, design team laboring over the optimal spoke width, faceting, contours and compatibility with forging profiles all in the works. That point being the toughest one, being that our series span over 8 different core forging profiles, ranging from the classic straight center disk (FMS) to the deep lip XL series, monoblock and deep concave. Our biggest challenge was designing a wheel that maintained that insane design language in deep concave, as it does it straight center disk.
After revision number 6 we had it, from the taper fo the spoke, to the detailed jewel like faceting on the side of the spoke, and the sleek beveled flange area, its the one!!
For the intro we chose a BMW M6 equipped with a set of Deep Concave CV11′s in 21×9 / 21×10.5 inches, adorned with a finish combined of a gloss black center and lip, gloss black inner barrel and a colormatching interlagos blue lip stripe. If there ever was a way in extending the life cycle of a sports car soon to be replaced by a newer model, a set of these D2FORGED CV11 wheels is a good one!
