The Barclays Center is an all new indoor arena recently built in Brooklyn, NY and home to the Brooklyn Nets Basketball Team. The project included many high profile investors and shareholders, one of the most notable being entertainer Jay-Z. Although the project took quite some time to complete the Barclays opened its doors on September 28, 2012 with a concert headlined by … you guessed it … Jay-Z!! Since that time there have been countless concerts, sporting events and shows featuring the who’s who of every genre of entertainment, including The Rolling Stones, Barbara Streisand, The Who, New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors and more!
On December 16, 2012 the first ever WWE event was held at the Barclays and our D2FORGED Wheels company was featured as headlining wrestler Alberto Del Rio took to the stage in a D2 Edition Lamborghini LP640 Roadster! It’s a accomplishment for any company to be featured on a major pay per view stage, but its even bigger and better considering the founders of D2FORGED are 2 brothers from Brooklyn!!
Derrick from D2 said, “The WWE is a company like no other, in that they are media powerhouse, but the staff and the wrestlers are such a great group of people to work with. Our relationship with the WWE started a little over a year ago, when Alberto Del Rio contacted us as he was shopping for a new car, and wanted it tricked out. So 13th months later, the Barclays show was the best anniversary gift ever! This arena is a crown jewel of Brooklyn and for a person that was born and raised here, I would have been honored to simply have floor seats to a show, so seeing our company featured on the headlining stage was a surreal experience!! To put it simply it was a dream come true, and I was able to enjoy the moment with my wife,children, and friends ringside, to see all the action.”
